Lustleigh Society…EXPLORING EASTERN DARTMOOR AT THE TIME OF THE BLACK DEATH.

Exploring Eastern Dartmoor in the age of The Black Death.

Speaker – Dr David Stone.

The talk explores the local evidence for the impact of the Black Death of 1348-9, which nationally caused the death of nearly half the population. The talk looks first at what life was like on Eastern Dartmoor on the eve of the Black Death, before focusing on the nature and passage of the disease, and its efforts on the local economy and society in the longer term.

Please come and join us and enjoy an evening with Dr David Stone. He is an associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter and a member of Moor Than Meets the Eye Moor Medieval Study Group.

The hall opens at 7, talk commences at 7.30. Members and non-members are all welcome.
